Interview Project





My friend Ümmühan  and I listened to an interview on bbc radio 4 which was between interviewer Kirsty Lang and director Tim Burton.The interview was about `Alice in Wonderland` directed by Tim Burton. The interview was published on 23/04/2010.

   Director Tim Burton is the guest of Film Programme by Kirsty Lang. They talk bout reinventing `Alice in Wonderland`. In introduction, Kirsty Lang gives some information about the film and film characters The interview`s speech goes on giving some parts from`Alice in Wonderland`. Then, she introduces the director and starts asking question to him.

   Firstly, Kirsty Long asked the successful director to tell about Lewis Caroll`s Alice. He mentioned about the age,society and dream world of the story. He also says that the characters explore the dream world and they seemed strange issue.Then the interviewer tells about a few stories directed by Tim Burton. She continues his interview asking to him how he makes the characters like his own. He says that he knows more about Alice and the world of Alice and he also says  that he doesn`t collect the information about Alice from books but from music, songs,interpretation writers,other illustrator and incorperates into culture.

  
   Secondly,  she asks if it is true he based his wide screen on a lie jell a loosen in a funny way. He laughs ans says that any time, he copes up with something in his mind and he never goes OK that`s it. Because it looks like you are doing imitation.After that, the interviewer gives a part of speech of  Mad Latter (Johny Depp play him in the film) from the film and goes on asking question about the famous actor Johny Depp and his popularity. He replies that he likes playing different roles and becoming different characters. He adds that he enjoys doing it.

     Lastly, they go on discussing `Alice in Wonderland`, its difference from other stories and which points it has similarity with them. Then, they start to talk about Tim Burton`s career and how he begins his career as an animator at Disnay.


      If we were the interviewer, we would like to ask to him :

            Did you imagine that one day `Alice in Wonderland would be so successful?
            Imagine that you are making the film again which parts will you change?

  1. In fact,it was the most difficult project that i have ever made. Because listening to native speakers speech is very time consuming process.
    I know that it is helpful task for influencing listening skill so I consider it as a memorable experience.
